- Synopsis
- "This page shows a map of South Africa. There is a locator dot shown, which will be at the top left when the image is the correct way up. The map is surrounded by an image border. South Africa fills the centre of the page with part of Namibia and Botswana shown in the top of the page. The small countries of Lesotho and Swaziland are shown on the right of the page. They are surrounded by South Africa. Four main cities are marked by an open circle symbol. Robben Island is marked a by a solid dot in the bottom left of the page. There is a scale in the bottom right corner of the page. Within the image border the textured (blue on large print) areas represent the sea. Robben Island is quite small, 2 x 1.2 miles (3.3 x 1.9 km). It is 4.5 miles (7 km) from Cape Town. It had a notorious prison that held Nelson Mandela for twenty years. The prison has closed down and is now a museum."
