- Synopsis
- These pages show images of spider webs. It is a multi-page image set on three pages. There is a locator dot shown on each page, which will be at the top left when the image is the correct way up. Each image is surrounded by an image border. Normal web: This image shows a web made by a spider not influenced by a drug. Strands go from the centre out to anchor the web on other objects. These objects have not been shown. Also from the centre is a long thread that spirals outwards in an anti-clockwise direction giving the web a generally circular structure. Marijuana and Benzedrine: The first image shows the effect marijuana has on a spider when it tries to make a web. It is similar to the normal web but has a section at the top that is completely missing. Other parts of the web are also missing or made in an erratic manner. The second image is a web made by spider affected by the drug Benzedrine. It is similar to the marijuana web with missing sections, additional sections and generally erratic as well. Caffeine and chloral hydrate: The first image shows the effect caffeine has on a spider when it tries to make a web. Its structure is very erratic with a lot missing. It bears no resemblance to the normal web. The second image is a web made by a spider affected by the drug chloral hydrate. The radial anchor strands are similar to the normal web but the circular spiral strand is completely missing.
