- Synopsis
- The image shows the cross section through the dermis. The epidermis, or outer layer of the skin, is at the top of the diagram. There is a key to the diagram on page one and the diagram on page two. A locator dot and title are shown. These must always be at the top left of the page when the image is the right way up. Starting at the top and working down the left hand side the labelling shows the three layers of the dermis: • the epidermis • the dermis • adipose tissue Starting at the left hand side and working across the diagram are: • sensory nerve endings • lymph vessels • sebacious gland • hair root capillary • a hair • the hair follicle • erector pili muscle • sweat gland • blood supply
