- Synopsis
- There are two graphs on this page: a distance-time graph plotting time against distance for a car travelling on a motorway, and a time-velocity graph plotting time against velocity for a jet before take-off. There is a locator dot shown, which will be at the top left of the page when the image is the correct way up. To aid reading, there is a grid of fine dashed lines on the graphs. The data lines on the graphs are shown as heavy, dashed lines (red on the large print versions) and the data points are shown as small empty circles (red dots on the large print) Distance time graph The graph is on the top of the page. Its X-axis runs across the page at the bottom of the image showing time in seconds (s). It is marked and labelled for every 50 seconds, starting at zero at the origin on the left and going up to 150 seconds on the right. The Y-axis goes up the page on the left of the image. It shows distance in metres (m). It is marked and labelled for every 500 metres, starting at zero at the origin and going up to 2500 metres at the top. Velocity time graph The graph is on the bottom of the page. Its X-axis runs across the page at the bottom of the image showing time in seconds (s). It is marked and labelled for every 10 seconds, starting at zero at the origin on the left and going up to 40 seconds on the right. The Y-axis goes up the page on the left of the image. It shows velocity in metres per second (m/s). It is marked and labelled for every 40 m/s, starting at zero at the origin and going up to 160 m/s at the top.
