- Synopsis
- This is a labelled cross section view of mountains formed by the movement of tectonic plates. A dashed line image border surrounds the diagram. There is a locator dot shown, which will be at the top left of the page when the image is the correct way up. The layers of the earth's crust stretch across the middle of the page. They have been buckled by the pressure of two tectonic plates moving together. At the centre right of the page the crust has sheared causing a fault line to develop.
