- Synopsis
- This is a five-page document. On page 1 there is a diagram that shows how current-potential difference (PD) changes when electrical resistance is put in a circuit. On page 2 there is a graph showing how current (Amps) rises as PD (Volts) rises. On page 3 there is a current-PD graph for a resistor, on page 4 a graph for a filament bulb and on page 5 for a diode. There is a locator dot on each page, which will be at the top left of the when the image is the correct way up. Page 1: This is an electronic circuit diagram. In the top centre of the diagram is an electrical cell. Going around anticlockwise from here are an open switch, an ammeter, a voltmeter and a piece of wire in parallel, and a variable resistor in the top right of the image. Page 2: On this page there is a graph plotted from these measurements: * Current (A) 0 0.05 0.10 0.15 0.20 0.25 * PD (V) 0 0.50 1.00 1.50 2.00 2.50 The X-axis goes across the bottom of the page and shows PD in Volts and the Y-axis goes up the right of the page and shows current in Amps. Page 3: On this page there is a graph showing current-PD for a resistor. The X-axis goes across the middle of the graph; it shows PD in Volts and goes from -3 on the left to +3 on the right. The Y-axis goes up the middle of the page; it shows current in Amps and goes from -0.3 at the bottom to +0.3 at the top. The data line goes diagonally from the bottom left of the graph to the top right. Page 4: On this page there is a graph showing current-PD for a filament bulb. The X-axis goes across the middle of the graph; it shows PD in Volts and goes from -3 on the left to +3 on the right. The Y-axis goes up the middle of the page; it shows current in Amps and goes from -0.3 at the bottom to +0.3 at the top. The data line is in an 'S' shape and starts in the bottom left of the graph and goes up to the top right. Page 5: On this page there is a graph showing current-PD for a diode. The X-axis goes across the middle of the graph; it shows PD in Volts and goes from -3 on the left to +3 on the right. The Y-axis goes up the middle of the page; it shows current in Amps and goes from -0.3 at the bottom to +0.3 at the top. The data line goes horizontally across the middle of the page to 1 on the X-axis then curves sharply up the page.
