- Synopsis
- This is a labelled diagram of a wave generator used to produce electrical energy from the power of ocean waves. There is a locator dot shown, which will be at the top left of the page when the image is the correct way up. The diagram is surrounded by a dashed line image border. The ocean water is shown stretching across the bottom half of the page. The device is seen from the side. At the centre of the page is an axle that is connected to a generator. It fixed to a paddle-shape component to the left that is turned alternately clockwise and anti-clockwise in a rocking motion by the action of the waves. This motion is converted to electrical energy by the generator. There are many other systems for converting wave energy into electrical power, using buoys or piston devices.
