- Das Buch dokumentiert den Ladenburger Diskurs "Umweltstaat", einem von der Gottlieb Daimler- und Karl Benz-Stiftung veranstalteten wissenschaftlichen Gespräch aus dem Themenbereich "Wechselbeziehungen zwischen Mensch, Umwelt und Technik".
