- Synopsis
- Dieser Band ist das Ergebnis einer umfassenden, 1996 bis 1998 in vier Bundesländern (Brandenburg, Bayern, Schleswig-Holstein, Thüringen) durchgeführten Jugendstudie. Im 1. Kapitel des Buches werden die Theorie- und Befundlagen zum Thema Fremdenfeindlichkeit, Antisemitismus und Gewalt präsentiert. Über den sozial-konstruktivistischen Ansatz, von dem sich die Autor/innen in ihren Untersuchungen leiten ließen, berichtet das Kapitel 2. In den Kapiteln 3 - 8 finden die Leser/innen zahlreiche empirische Belege für die vielfältigen und miteinander verwobenen Hintergründe für fremdenfeindliche, antisemitische und gewaltbezogene Konstruktionen. Dabei geht es u.a. um die Ausprägungen rechtsextremistischer Orientierungen, um Ost-West-Unterschiede in den fremdenfeindlichen und antisemitischen Einstellungen deutscher Jugendlicher, um Zusammenhänge zwischen politischen Interessen und Fremdenfeindlichkeit, um autoritäre Orientierungsmuster, historische Geschichtslegenden und deren Wirksamkeit. Kapitel 9 rundet die Darstellung der quantitativen Ergebnisse durch die Interpretation qualitativer Interviews ab. Im abschließenden Kapitel stellen sich die Autor/innen in einer Diskussion den Fragen nach der wissenschaftlichen und gesellschaftlichen Relevanz ihrer Ergebnisse.
