- Synopsis
- An analysis of conditions of employment in the port of Manchester, this 1956 study is based on enquiries conducted in 1950-51. The planning and execution of the enquiry were carried out by Joan Woodward, assisted by R. S. Webster, E. Mumford, and J. Gogarty. Statistical analysis of the data was undertaken by E. Gittus, who also acted as consultant statistician. Preliminary drafts were prepared by Woodward and Webster; C. H. Vereker and M. P. Hall collaborated in the preparation of the final draft.
