A few years have gone by since Rudolph Rassendyll parted from Flavia, who is now queen of Ruritania. One last letter, he will write to her, and then, goodbye. Faithful friend, Fritz, to whom the letter is entrusted, discovers that his treacherous valet has stolen the letter and run away. Rassendyll must once more travel to Ruritania, lest his Flavia should be subject to scandal or worse. He is the king's look-alike and much better at the job than the king, so when the king dies, here is a chance to hide that fact and assume the throne and its queen for himself. Will he take it? Lovers of "The Prisoner of Zenda" will not be disappointed.
