Entstehung und Rückgang des landwirtschaftlichen Großbetriebes in England: Wirtschaftliche und sozialpolitische Studien über die landwirtschaftliche Betriebsfrage
by Hermann LevyFree Trade and the Empire: A Study in Economics and Politics (Routledge Revivals)
by William Graham Filippo UgoliniOriginally published in 1904. The chief object of this pamphlet is to set forth, in a connected form, the main aspects of the great tariff controversy now for some time before the public; to treat the question more deeply and fully than the exigencies of the platform usually allow; and at the same time to treat it, as far as may be, from a scientific and as little as possible from a party point of view. The question is one both of economics and politics, and it raises the most important and delicate and complicated issues in both subjects.

by F. LusenskyRevival: The Business of Insurance (Routledge Revivals)
by Alexander Johnstone WilsonThis little book is in no sense intended to be of use to insurance experts. It is written by an outsider mainly for the ignorant, for the multitude who either wish to insure their lives, or to whom the insurance agent is for ever coming with his proposals, his promises and blandishments. My doctrine is that every man ought to insure his life the moment he arrives at a period or position when his responsibility extends over the lives of others. If this duty were regarded as an imperative one by the community at large, there would be little or no necessity for the elaborate machinery required by our life offices to induce people to invest in life or other insurance policies; but as long as apathy prevails, such agencies must be maintained and a ceaseless activity displayed by the offices in tempting investors to enter into policy contracts.

Amtliche Mitteilungen aus der Abteilung für Forsten des Königlich Preußischen Ministeriums für Landwirtschaft, Domänen und Forsten: 1904
by Julius Springer, BerlinCrime on My Hands: A George Sanders Mystery (Ipl Library Of Crime Classics)
by George SandersDescription George Sanders is frankly bored. Lionized the world over as the ultimate on-screen bounder, cad and ladies' man, he is in serious danger of becoming typecast as the particular kind of gentleman sleuth seen in his long-running film series The Saint and The Falcon. George would actually be quite happy at home, tinkering with his inventions, but if he must act he wants something he can sink his teeth into. Now George's firecracker agent, Melva, has got him the part of a lifetime - the lead in a hot new western, starring alongside screen goddess Carla Folsom. But when shooting begins, someone takes the term a little too literally, and the dead body of an extra is found. That wasn't in the script - and neither was George's unwilling debut as real-life private detective, only this time he's also been cast as the police's number one suspect. Before you can shout 'action' the game is afoot and the victims start to mount up, with George remaining just one step ahead of the law until the final denouement. Crime on My Hands, the debut George Sanders mystery, is a suspenseful and highly entertaining backstage crime novel, which perfectly captures the wit and charm of George Sanders, especially his quintessentially polished, sardonic dialogue. Anyone who loves All Abour Eve, or enjoys golden age crime fiction, will find Crime on My Hands irresistible. Praise 'Lots of fun and a sufficiency of bloodshed.' New York Times 'Fast and funny.' Saturday Review 'A highly readable thriller with laughs on the side.' New York Herald-Tribune
