Privacy Preservation in Distributed Systems: Algorithms and Applications (Signals and Communication Technology)

This book provides a discussion of privacy in the following three parts: Privacy Issues in Data Aggregation; Privacy Issues in Indoor Localization; and Privacy-Preserving Offloading in MEC. In Part 1, the book proposes LocMIA, which shifts from membership inference attacks against aggregated location data to a binary classification problem, synthesizing privacy preserving traces by enhancing the plausibility of synthetic traces with social networks. In Part 2, the book highlights Indoor Localization to propose a lightweight scheme that can protect both location privacy and data privacy of LS. In Part 3, it investigates the tradeoff between computation rate and privacy protection for task offloading a multi-user MEC system, and verifies that the proposed load balancing strategy improves the computing service capability of the MEC system. In summary, all the algorithms discussed in this book are of great significance in demonstrating the importance of privacy.

Es ist an der Zeit Java didaktisch neu zu denken. Seit der ersten offiziellen Vorstellung von Java 1995 ist viel passiert. Ursprünglich war Java konsequent als eine rein objektorientierte Sprache definiert. Über die Jahre wurde die Sprache weiterentwickelt und ist alles andere als kalter Kaffee. Lambda-Ausdrücke, Datenhaltungsklassen, Pattern-Matching oder Datenströme ermöglichen es, neben dem objektorientierten Programmierparadigma von Anfang an das funktionale Programmierparadigma in der Lehre anzuwenden. Dieses Lehrbuch verfolgt konsequent den Weg, auch die aktuelleren Konstrukte von Java einzubeziehen und damit einen dem heutigen Stand der Technik passenden Kurs anzubieten, der allen wichtigen Programmierparadigmen gerecht wird und auf die Softwareentwicklung in unterschiedlichen Programmiersprachen vorbereitet. Dabei werden die wichtigsten Datenstrukturen und Klassiker der Informatik als Beispiele verwendet. So begegnen uns Mengen in Form von Suchbäumen genauso wie durch Hashwerte organisiert. Es werden Klassiker wie der Chatbot „Eliza“ oder die Simulation „Game of Life“ implementiert. Zu guter Letzt wird für eine eigene kleine Programmiersprache Assembler-Code generiert. So entsteht ein Programmierkurs, der sich von Anfang an der Struktur und Interpretation von Programmen widmet.

He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Rutgers University and at the University of Maryland from 2003 to 2009. He joined the Department of Physics and Astronomy at West Virginia University in Fall 2009. Prof. Stanescu’s research interests encompass a variety of topics in theoretical condensed matter physics including topological insulators and superconductors, topological quantum computation, ultra-cold atom systems in optical lattices, and strongly correlated materials, such as, for example, cuprate high-temperature superconductors. His research uses a combination of analytical and numerical tools and focuses on understanding the emergence of exotic states of matter in solid state and cold atom structures, for example, topological superconducting phases that host Majorana zero modes, and on investigating the possibilities of exploiting these states as physical platforms for quantum computation.
