Navigating Integration Policies of Forced Migration in the United States: The Case of Syrian Refugees

by Paul-Fiete KramerPlattformarbeit wird nicht zuletzt aufgrund der oft prekären Erwerbsbedingungen nur der Stellenwert eines (zeitweisen) Nebenerwerbs oder eines bezahlten Hobbys zugesprochen. Gleichzeitig zeichnen sich auf Seiten der Plattformarbeitenden vielfältige Interessenlagen und Erwerbskonstellationen ab, die über derartige Motive und Funktionen der Plattformarbeit hinausweisen. Die vorliegende Studie fragt ausgehend davon nach den längerfristigen erwerbsbezogenen Interessen und Strategien von Plattformarbeitenden und untersucht deren individuelle Ausgestaltung der Erwerbsprojekte. Die Untersuchung zeigt, dass Plattformarbeit teils langfristiger Bestandteil solo-selbstständiger Erwerbsprojekte ist und die Umsetzung individueller arbeitsbezogener Ansprüche ermöglicht; prekäre Erwerbsbedingungen werden dabei teils bewusst in Kauf genommen.

by Tobias ScheuDiese Arbeit untersucht aus Sicht von Bewohner*innen in Tübingen, wie Geflüchtete wahrgenommen und in räumlichen Kontexten verortet werden. Zunächst erfolgt eine Verortung des Themas Fluchtmigration im Kontext der Globalisierung und sich daraus ergebenden Auswirkungen auf lokale Raumvorstellungen. Im Anschluss erfolgt eine Darstellung und Bestimmung zentraler Begrifflichkeiten und von Diskursen des deutschen Migrations- und Integrationsdispositivs. Dabei wird auf die Bedeutung von Quartieren als Orte der Aushandlung von Integration eingegangen. Ergänzend werden verschiedene wissenschaftliche Theorien zur Rahmung von räumlichen Wahrnehmungsprozessen dargestellt, welche die spätere Empirie rahmen. Zur Erhebung von räumlichen Wahrnehmungsprozessen wurde eine eigene empirische Erhebung mittels Walking & Talking-Interviews im Tübinger Süden durchgeführt, anhand derer eine gegenstandsbasierte Theorie über Wahrnehmungsmechanismen von Geflüchteten entwickelt wird. Die Auswertung der Empirie erfolgt inhaltsanalytisch und orientiert sich an der Grounded Theory.

Using interdisciplinary perspectives to investigate themes of urban space, meaning as a psychosocial construct, criminal violence, and religiosity as culture, this book uncovers the underlying complexities of turning spaces into places through the built form, activities in the urban space and the meanings associated with it. Fundamental elements in the construction of place are used to understand the ways in which barrio residents conceive and construct the physicality of the private, public and religious spaces; how residents use the physical spaces of the barrios; and the psychosocial meanings residents associate with the spaces and activities. Using rich qualitative data and a case study design, the book relies on audio-visual data and interviews with organisers, residents and key participants in Petare, the largest barrio conglomeration in Caracas and Venezuela. Qualitative thematic analysis of participants’ experiences of Catholicism, violence and, ultimately, the construction of place exposes a unique argument: that meaningful urban spaces are embedded with emotions, memories, relationships, experiences and meanings, which turn them into places.

Als Ausdruck des Kapitalismus allemal, dem man kritisch, und das heißt ablehnend gegenübersteht. In einer neutraleren Haltung wird die Beschäftigung mit Marken als Gegenstand von Betriebswirtschaft, Marketing und Design verstanden und damit außerhalb der eigenen Kompetenz angesiedelt.

Global Sufism: Boundaries, Narratives and Practices
