Here is an overview of the specialized formats that Bookshare offers its members with links that go to the Help Center for more information.

• Bookshare Web Reader - A customized reading tool for Bookshare members offering all the features of DAISY with a single click of the "Read Now" link.
• DAISY (Digital Accessible Information System) - A digital book file format. DAISY books from Bookshare are DAISY 3.0 text files that work with just about every type of access technology that reads text. Books that contain images will have the download option of ‘DAISY Text with Images’.
• BRF (Braille Refreshable Format) - Digital Braille for use with refreshable Braille devices and Braille embossers.
• MP3 (MPEG audio layer 3) - Provides audio only with no text. These books are created with a text-to-speech engine and spoken by Kendra, a high quality synthetic voice from Ivona. Any device that supports MP3 playback is compatible.
• DAISY Audio - Similar to the DAISY option above; however, this option uses MP3 files created with our text-to-speech engine that utilizes Ivonas Kendra voice. This format will work with Daisy Audio compatible players such as Victor Reader Stream and Read2Go.
• EPUB - A standard e-book format that can be read on many tools, such as iBooks, Readium or others.
• Word - Accessible Word output, which can be unzipped and opened in any tool that allows .docx files

Rhinoceros (UEB contracted)

The giraffe is so tall that the page has been rotated to fit. Its head is turned to face you and has two horns on the top, with ears either side. In the middle of its head are its large eyes and down from these are its nostrils. Its mouth is just below its nostrils but is not shown on the image. To the left of its head, is its long neck which leads down to its body. The giraffe is standing on all four long legs each with hooves. On the left of the page is the tail with a small tuft of hair at the end.

It is a very large animal with pointed tusks and long trunk, and is looking straight ahead of him. To the right of its eye and down, is the elephant's two tusks, below these is the elephant's long trunk. To the left of the head is the large ear, then its big body which is standing on all four legs with toes at the front of his feet. On the left of the page is the elephant's long thin tail with a tuft of hair at the end.
