Here is an overview of the specialized formats that Bookshare offers its members with links that go to the Help Center for more information.

• Bookshare Web Reader - A customized reading tool for Bookshare members offering all the features of DAISY with a single click of the "Read Now" link.
• DAISY (Digital Accessible Information System) - A digital book file format. DAISY books from Bookshare are DAISY 3.0 text files that work with just about every type of access technology that reads text. Books that contain images will have the download option of ‘DAISY Text with Images’.
• BRF (Braille Refreshable Format) - Digital Braille for use with refreshable Braille devices and Braille embossers.
• MP3 (MPEG audio layer 3) - Provides audio only with no text. These books are created with a text-to-speech engine and spoken by Kendra, a high quality synthetic voice from Ivona. Any device that supports MP3 playback is compatible.
• DAISY Audio - Similar to the DAISY option above; however, this option uses MP3 files created with our text-to-speech engine that utilizes Ivonas Kendra voice. This format will work with Daisy Audio compatible players such as Victor Reader Stream and Read2Go.
• EPUB - A standard e-book format that can be read on many tools, such as iBooks, Readium or others.
• Word - Accessible Word output, which can be unzipped and opened in any tool that allows .docx files

Police Car (UEB uncontracted)

The police car is seen from the side, with only two of its four wheels showing at the bottom of the page. There is a locator dot shown, which will be at the top left of the page when the image is the right way up. The front (bonnet) of the car is at the left, and the rear (boot) at the right. The bumpers stick out slightly at the lower front and rear of the car. Above the front bumper is one headlight. Aeroplane (Large Print)

This is an image of an aeroplane viewed from above. There is a locator dot shown, which will be at the top left of the page when the image is the right way up. The front (nose) of the aeroplane is at the left of the page, and the back (tail) on the right. The cockpit, where the pilot sits, is near the nose of the aeroplane. To the right of this is the long main cabin for the passengers. On each side of the passenger cabin there is a long wing. Each wing has an engine on the front, and flaps to control the aeroplane at the rear. The smaller wings making up the tail also have flaps at the rear.
