Mapping the Millennium: Behind the Plans of the New World Order

by Terry M. Boardman

In a quest to discover the truth behind the twentieth century’s disastrous record of conflict and war, Terry Boardman considers two contradictory approaches to history: so-called cock-up theory and conspiracy theory. Could there be truth to the often-dismissed concept of conspiracy in history: the manipulation of external events by groups and individuals mostly hidden from the public eye? In the work of philosopher and scientist Rudolf Steiner, Boardman finds convincing evidence of the existence of secretive circles in the West, which have plans for humanity’s long-term future. Steiner indicated that such "brotherhoods" had prepared for world war in the twentieth century, and had instructed their members, using redrawn maps as a guide, on how Europe was to be changed. If these brotherhoods existed in Steiner’s time, could they still be active today? Based on detailed research, Boardman concludes that such groups are directing world politics in our time. As backing for his theory, he studies a series of important articles and maps - ranging from an 1890 edition of the satirical journal Truth to more recent pieces from influential publications that speak for themselves. He concludes that vast plans are in progress for a New World Order to control and direct individuals and nations, and he calls us to be vigilant, awake and informed.

Marginality in Philosophy and Psychology: The Limits of Psychological Explanation

by George Tudorie

Discussing marginality from an analytic perspective and drawing on canonical theories by a diverse set of authors, such as Dilthey, Collingwood, Wittgenstein, Foucault, John McDowell, Susan Carey, Michael Tomasello, and Chris Frith, this book is an important contribution to ongoing debates on marginality among psychiatrists, psychologists, social scientists, and philosophers.Psychology often resorts to overambitious theorizing due to a perceived pressure to justify its scientific credentials. Taking the cases of preverbal children and mentally ill patients, George Tudorie illustrates that applying overarching and unifying explanations to marginal subjects is problematic, arguing instead that those at the margins should be given their proper explanatory autonomy.Tudorie examines recent cognitive theories on early development in children to reveal the difficulties of conceptualising the emergence of human abilities, while also demonstrating how cognitive accounts of psychosis, built around the typical concepts of 'belief-desire-intention' psychology, eventually falter. In doing so, he reveals that interpretation is not a route psychology can take at the margins, and calls for a clearer view of explanatory options in marginal cases.

Martian in the Playground: Understanding The Schoolchild With Asperger's Syndrome (PDF)

by Clare Sainsbury

`This deceptively little book contains more truth and provides more insight into what it is like to have Asperger's Syndrome than many a weighty tome on the subject. It offers a view from the inside, but it is not yet another autobiography. Admirably and refreshingly, the author has refrained from giving an account solely based on her own experiences. Instead she sets out observations from 25 different suffers, giving often astonishing and sometimes harrowing glimpses of what actually happens to a child with Asperger's Syndrome in the classroom, in the playground, in the lunch queue and at home' - The Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry.

Mary Magdalene's Final Legacy ebook

by Julie De Vere Hunt

Where did Yeshua and Mary Magdalene’s line carry on?Sequel to Mary Magdalene’s Legacy, Mary Magdalene’s Final Legacy follows the next three generations of Yeshua and Mary Magdalene through the diaries of Jude, their grandson, and John Julius, their great grandson. The story takes place in Egypt, Italy, Greece, Asia Minor (Turkey) and Gaul in the 1st and 2nd centuries. Jude suffers a spiritual crisis, and is beset with personal tragedy, but continues with his divine gift, writing. Jude’s son, John Julius, succeeds Jude and then travels to Asia Minor, where he changes his name and founds a new movement which would survive for centuries.Archaeological discoveries made in the last twenty years together with the unearthing of more ancient Greek papyrus fragments form the basis for this story. These early Christian writings were written under pseudonyms and until now were unconnected with Mary Magdalene’s descendants.Mary Magdalene leaves one final legacy which will send shock waves through the church today. It’s a story, but it is based on the Universal Truth.

Masculinities in Mathematics (UK Higher Education OUP Humanities & Social Sciences Education OUP)

by Heather Mendick

"The book speaks to me as one of those texts that will become seminal in mathematics education. It is original, refreshing, and despite a complicated plot, points to some ways forward. It is engagingly written, if at times perhaps a little bit no-nonsense in tone. It will be of interest to teachers and teacher educators, as well as providing a theoretical stance that should inform future research."Review from BERJ, 2007The study of mathematics, together with other ‘gendered’ subjects such as science and engineering, usually attracts more male than female pupils, particularly at more advanced levels. In this book Heather Mendick explores this phenomenon, addressing the important question of why more boys than girls choose to study mathematics. She combines new research with an original theoretical approach to argue that ‘doing mathematics is doing masculinity’.The book illuminates what studying mathematics means for both students and teachers and offers a broad range of insights into students’ views and practices. In addition to the words of young people learning mathematics, the masculinity of mathematics is explored through historical material and cinematic representations. Heather Mendick discusses the ways in which the alignment of mathematics with masculinity creates tensions for girls and women doing the subject. These tensions are sensitively explored through interviews with young men and women, to show how doing mathematics fits or conflicts with their gender identities. Finally, the book explores the implications for teachers, including ways to promote gender equity in mathematics education. This is key reading for students on courses in gender and education, mathematics education, gender and curriculum, and social justice.

The Masks Of Christ: Behind the Lies and Cover-ups about the Man Believed to be God

by Lynn Picknett Clive Prince

This book is not intended as an attack on Christianity of the Christ of faith, but is an assessment of all the historical evidence about Jesus Christ.Although there is a huge literature on the subject - theological, historical, mythical, New Age and speculative - almost all of it is aimed at a niche market. The Masks of Christ is very different, being a mainstream book aimed at everyone. For the first time, all the various theories and facts about Jesus are considered between the covers of one accessible book.As the phenomenal sales of The Da Vinci Code continue to fuel a growing global appetite for questioning the old certainities and assumptions about Christianity and what it says about its founder, never has there been a more perfect time to launch The Masks of Christ.
