The Japanese Legal Profession in Transition (Economics, Law, and Institutions in Asia Pacific)

The research also shows a huge variety of lawyer's office management policies related with their market strategies. It is the first time that a national survey of lawyers was designed to obtain retrospective data of individual lawyers in Japan. Slap (Foursight Theatre) and Goliath (Sphinx) are both one woman shows. Slap, performed by Naomi Cooke, explores images of motherhood, including lesbian motherhood and the concept of virgin birth. Goliath, performed by Nicola McAuliffe, is a dramatization, by Bryony Lavery, of Beatrix Campbell’s powerful study of the 1991 riots in Cardiff, Oxford and Tyneside. This is a must read for scholars and researchers of theatre studies.

Birth Control in Germany 1871-1933 (Routledge Revivals)

Some argue that fluctuating birth rates reflect society’s efforts to match population and economy, while others argue that modern low levels can only be the result of radical innovations in popular behavior. He further says that attitudes quite similar to those found in liberal circles today were widespread among ordinary men and women in Germany, in contrast to, for example, the pro natalist ideologies dominant in France in the same period.
