Synopsis

On this page there is a diagram of a hockey pitch, a player running and dribbling the ball, and a hockey stick and ball. Each image has a dashed line image border. There is a locator dot shown, which will be at the top left of the page when the image is the right way up. Hockey pitch (left) The two ends of the pitch are shown at the top and bottom of the image. The opposing teams are shown as dots and crosses. At the top centre of the page is the goal with a goalkeeper down the page. Down again is a small empty circle, representing the penalty spot. Further down are two concentric semicircles marking the shooting circle, the 25-yard (22.86-metre) line and the centre line. The lines in the top half of the court are repeated in the bottom half of the court, but the other way around. Player dribbling the ball (top right) This is an image of a player seen from the side and facing left. His head is near the top centre of the page. Down from this his body can be found going down and right, with his arms stretched out to the left and hands holding a hockey stick to the left. The ball is down and to the left of the hockey stick. He runs quickly after the ball, with his legs stretched out to the right and left of his body. They reach down to the ground at the bottom of the image. Hockey stick (bottom right) The hooked end of the stick can be found at the bottom left of the image with the ball up and right. The stick extends to the handle at the top right of the image.
