Interlocking Spurs (large print)
Synopsis
This page shows two images. There is a map (plan) view at the top of the page and a landscape view at the bottom of the page. Each image is surrounded by an image border. There is a locator dot shown, which will be at the top left of the page when the image is the correct way up.The map view shows a winding valley. A river comes from the top of the image and flows down and left, it then bends and flows to the right. It bends again in the centre of the image and flows down and left. There is one more bend where the river goes down and right to the bottom of the image.
There are contour lines left and right of the river; they have a similar winding shape as the river. The space between the lines represents a height difference of ten metres. They show that as they get farther from the river the land gets higher.
The image at the bottom of the page shows a spur of hillside coming from the top of the hill on the right, down and left to the valley bottom and river in the bottom left centre of the image.
There is a second spur of hillside, which is further away, coming from the top of a different hill on the left, down and right towards the valley bottom in the centre of the image. Some of the lower part of the spur is hidden by the first, nearer spur.
