Welcome to Books Central where we hold over 1 million titles from early learning through to further and higher education from more than 1000 publishers and imprints for use by learners with a print disability.
Book formats available
Books from RNIB Bookshare are available in a variety of formats. Our publishers can give us a text recognisable PDF and/or EPUB.
If we only have a PDF file, the book will only be available to download as a PDF. However, if we also have a master EPUB file you will be able to download it in the following formats:
- EPUB
- DAISY audio / text only
- Unified English Braille (UEB)
- MP3
- HTML
- Text only

How to find books
Find what you need on RNIB Bookshare. Our diverse, growing collection has thousands of titles (availability varies by country).
Request a book
If the book you require is not in the RNIB Bookshare, fill out a book request form. Both the title and ISBN are required; it is helpful if you have the author, publisher and copyright year as well. If we need additional information to fulfil your request, we will contact you promptly.
Submit books
There are lots of accessible resources being created by individuals and RNIB Bookshare can help you to share the resources you create with others. This means that you and everyone else can benefit from access to a greater pool of resources without having to duplicate effort.
Braille books
You can read our braille books using a variety of compatible reading tools and choose from two book formats, BRF (braille ready format) or DAISY.
